Wenceslas Square in Prague

Wenceslas Square is located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. This is a favorite place not only for vacationers, but also for locals. Travelers who come to Prague sooner or later come to this square. The point is that Wenceslas Square is located in the center of the Czech capital and is connected to many other attractions.
The buildings on Wenceslas Square are constructed in such a way that they will create countless passages — the so-called passageways that connect the square with many other streets of Prague.
For local residents, it is of considerable importance — historically, it turned out that it was in this place that various demonstrations, celebrations and various gatherings took place and are taking place. In particular, in 1945, the end of the war was announced at this place, Gagarin rejoiced on Wenceslas Square, the Dalai Lama meditated and the President of the United States rang the famous freedom bell.

A new Place, part of which had to become Wenceslas Square, was created in Prague in 1348, several markets were located in this place, for example Cattle, now it is Charles Square, Horse Market, which was eventually renamed Wenceslas Square.

The main attraction of the square is the monument to St. Wenceslas, which was erected in 1912. The creator of the monument is Josef Myslbek. Actually, local residents and travelers make appointments "under the tail" of this monument.
Wenceslas Square is similar to a boulevard — its length is approximately 1 kilometer.
Behind Vaclav is the building of the National Museum, built in 1890 by Joseph Schultz. It should be noted that the museum looks extremely majestic. On its facade, vacationers can look at marble plaques with the names of famous figures of science and art. Plus, this museum houses a large library, which includes 1.3 million books and eight thousand manuscripts.
A parody of the sculpture of St. Wenceslas is located in the Lucerne Gallery. Creator David Cherny presented the patron saint of the Czech Republic in an extremely ambiguous way — the horse is upside down, and Vaclav sits beautifully on his stomach.
The current Wenceslas Square is one of the busiest places in the city. Even at night, this place is full of people, both tourists and local residents. There are numerous shops, fashion venues, hotels and restaurants. In particular, the largest bookstore in the city is Luxor.
