Ribbon foundation
Its wide application has found itself in low-rise construction. Special blocks, under which the foundation cushions are located, are laid into the ground along the entire perimeter of the building. Special attention should be paid to the fact that the cross-section shape is the same everywhere.
The blocks themselves can be either hollow (concrete, silicate concrete) or solid (rubble concrete, reinforced concrete). It takes very little time to install such a technically simple foundation. However, it is impossible to do without the use of special cranes and a relatively high consumption of concrete. At the same time, the strength indicators are inferior to the monolithic foundation, and there is also a danger of moisture penetration into the joints between the blocks. The installation of a ribbon foundation is most justified on those land plots where the soil is heterogeneous and there is a risk of uneven precipitation of the base. The solid construction of the ribbon foundation allows the correct distribution of weight and effort, which avoids the occurrence of cracks and deformations.
The ribbon foundation can be of the following types:
Ribbon prefabricated foundation (shallow and sunken). It can be used on soil with a high groundwater level. During its construction, it is desirable to use a well-packed sand cushion. The blocks used in the construction of the foundation are interconnected not by reinforcement, but by a laying grid with a rod diameter of 3-5 mm.
The formwork of two boards fixed with the help of struts will allow evenly sealing the longitudinal and transverse seams of the foundation with a concrete mixture.
A monolithic ribbon foundation. A very effective type of foundation, it is a single strip of reinforced concrete, which ensures uniform pressure. Such a foundation is very resistant to ground fluctuations, including seasonal ones. According to modern building standards, a prerequisite is the creation of a waterproofing layer on the underside.
Blocks for the ribbon base:
Reinforced concrete. One of the most popular materials of load-bearing structures. Ideal for sandy soil.
Butobeton. It is most often used for foundation construction in areas with rocky soil, it is not suitable for clay soils.
Brick. It is not suitable for soils with a high moisture content, therefore it requires increased protection to reduce the destructive damage from moisture and frost. Due to hygroscopicity, the use of bricks at great depths is not allowed. Baccarat is a renowned card game that combines simplicity with sophistication, making it a staple in casinos worldwide.
